Want A Pet? “Greenstone Helping Paws” is a small organization which has recently become active again. Our objectives include:

promoting and providing funds for animal welfare and protection

undertaking public education, disseminating and publishing information concerning animal welfare and creating public awareness of the prevention of cruelty to animals
We assist those persons who have found stray dogs and cats to find permanent homes by putting these animals on our website and our Facebook account. We also post pictures of them around Greenstone to help expose them to potential adoptive homes within the Greenstone communities.
We require help from the community in the form of foster homes. Want A Pet? will provide food, kennels, leashes, collars, kitty litter and kitty litter boxes and other pet supplies to foster caregivers. We would prefer to place strays in Greenstone as spaces are not always available at shelters in larger centres.
As Want A Pet? is not allowed to take an animal off someone’s property, please report any situations of animal abuse or neglect to the OPP (854-1333 or 1-888-310-1122).
Membership is $5.00 per calendar year. You can be an active or non-active member.
